Ingredients
- 50ml non-alcoholic aperitif (e.g., Lyre's Italian Spritz, Wilfred's Aperitif, Everleaf Marine)
- 75ml non-alcoholic sparkling wine or prosecco alternative (e.g., Nosecco, Freixenet 0.0% Alcohol-Free Sparkling)
- 25ml soda water
- Plenty of ice
- 1 fresh orange slice, for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a large wine glass or spritz glass generously with ice cubes. The more ice, the colder and crisper your drink will stay.
- Pour in the 50ml of your chosen non-alcoholic aperitif.
- Gently add the 75ml of non-alcoholic sparkling wine or prosecco alternative.
- Top with 25ml of soda water to add a delightful effervescence and lighten the drink.
- Give it a gentle stir with a bar spoon to combine the ingredients without losing too much fizz.
- Garnish with a fresh orange slice, either on the rim or floating in the drink, for that authentic Spritz look and aroma.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your guilt-free, refreshing Spritz!
Tips
- Chill Your Ingredients: For the best experience, ensure all your liquid ingredients are well-chilled before mixing. This helps keep your drink colder for longer and prevents the ice from melting too quickly.
- Glassware Matters: A large wine glass, a spritz glass, or even a highball glass works well. The wider opening allows the aromas to be appreciated.
- Experiment with Aperitifs: The world of non-alcoholic spirits is growing! Don't be afraid to try different brands of non-alcoholic aperitifs to find your favourite flavour profile. Some are more bitter, some more citrusy.
Variations
- Bitter Twist: For an extra layer of complexity, add a dash of non-alcoholic orange bitters before stirring.
- Herbal Touch: Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme alongside the orange slice for an aromatic twist.
- Fruity Flair: Muddle a few raspberries or a slice of grapefruit at the bottom of the glass before adding ice for a different fruit note.
- Less Sweet: If you prefer a less sweet drink, reduce the amount of non-alcoholic aperitif slightly or increase the soda water.
