Earl Grey Cognac Serenity
Unwind with this sophisticated cocktail blending VSOP Cognac, aromatic Earl Grey tea, subtle lavender honey, and a hint of lemon. It's a complex yet comforting drink, perfect for an elegant evening.

Ingredients
2 oz VSOP Cognac
1 oz Chilled, Strong-Brewed Earl Grey Tea
0.75 oz Lavender Honey Syrup (recipe below)
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Ice
Garnish: Lemon twist or fresh lavender sprig
For the Lavender Honey Syrup:
0.5 cup Water
0.5 cup Honey
1 tbsp Dried Food-Grade Lavender Buds
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Lavender Honey Syrup
Combine water and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the honey is fully dissolved.
Remove from heat, add the dried lavender buds, and let steep for 15-20 minutes.
Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bottle or jar, discarding the lavender buds. Allow to cool completely before use. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Step 2: Brew and Chill Earl Grey Tea
Brew a strong cup of Earl Grey tea according to package instructions (or slightly stronger). Allow it to cool to room temperature, then chill thoroughly in the refrigerator.
Step 3: Mix the Cocktail
Add the VSOP Cognac, chilled Earl Grey tea, lavender honey syrup, and fresh lemon juice to a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well-chilled.
Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass or a rocks glass filled with a large, fresh ice cube.
Garnish with a lemon twist or a fresh lavender sprig.
Tips
Quality Matters: Use a good quality VSOP Cognac for the best flavour profile.
Don't Over-Steep: Be careful not to steep the lavender too long, as it can impart a soapy flavour. Taste the syrup as it steeps to find your preferred balance.
Fresh Lemon: Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice for optimal brightness and flavour.
Chill Your Glass: A chilled glass will keep your cocktail colder for longer, enhancing the drinking experience.
Variations
Aromatic Twist: Add a dash or two of orange bitters to the shaker for an extra layer of citrus aroma and complexity.
Smoky Undertone: For a more adventurous palate, try infusing the honey syrup with a pinch of Lapsang Souchong tea alongside the lavender for a subtle smoky note.
Sparkling Finish: Top with a splash of dry sparkling wine or prosecco for a lighter, effervescent version.
