Ingredients
- 50ml whisky (blended Scotch or Japanese whisky)
- 150ml chilled soda water
- Ice
- Lemon twist, to garnish (optional)
Method
- Chill: Fill a tall highball glass right to the top with ice and stir it for a few seconds to chill the glass.
- Pour: Add the whisky and stir again.
- Top: Gently pour in the cold soda, give it one slow stir to keep the bubbles, and add a lemon twist.
Tips for the Perfect Whisky Highball
- Keep the soda in the fridge; warm soda goes flat on the ice.
- Around one part whisky to three parts soda is the classic ratio.
- A smoky whisky makes a bold, savoury highball.
Make It Your Own
Swap the soda for ginger ale for a sweeter, spicier long drink.
Please drink responsibly. Know your limits, and never drink and drive.
